Dermaplaning Facial

Dermaplaning is a gentle yet effective exfoliation treatment that carefully removes the build-up of dead skin cells from the surface of the skin, along with fine vellus hair (peach fuzz). This helps to reveal a smoother, brighter and more refined complexion. The treatment is completed with finishing products and a mask carefully selected to suit your individual skin needs, leaving the skin soft, refreshed and glowing.
Dermaplaning is not suitable for every skin type or condition. Skin that is particularly sensitive, inflamed, experiencing active acne, or has an impaired or compromised skin barrier may not respond well to this level of exfoliation. Treating an already compromised barrier can potentially increase sensitivity, irritation and inflammation. Your skin will therefore be assessed prior to treatment to ensure dermaplaning is both appropriate and beneficial for you.

Pre Treatment Advice
Arrive with clean skin where possible and inform me of any recent changes to your skin, health or medication.
Keep your skincare routine gentle and focus on keeping the skin well hydrated.
Avoid having any other facial, peel, laser or other advanced skin treatment 2 weeks before treatment.
Allow any active breakouts, irritation or broken skin to fully settle before treatment.
Avoid any direct sun exposure for 1 week before treatment.
Do not use any AHA/ BHA exfoliating acids/ retinoid products or exfoliating scrubs for 5 days before your treatment.
Wax, thread or use depilatory creams on the treatment area for approximately 5–7 days beforehand.
Post Treatment Advice
Avoid direct sun exposure and apply a broad-spectrum SPF daily to protect the new skin.
Keep your skin clean, hydrated, and avoid touching or picking at your face.
Do not use any exfoliating acids, retinoids, or harsh scrubs for 5–7 days post-treatment.
Avoid activities that cause excessive sweating, such as heavy exercise, saunas, or steam rooms, for 48 hours.
Postpone any other facial treatments, including waxing or threading, for at least 2 weeks.
A little temporary redness, tightness or sensitivity can occur following dermaplaning and should usually settle fairly quickly. Because dermaplaning removes part of the superficial protective layer of dead skin cells, protecting and supporting the skin barrier afterwards is particularly important.
